“We don't have your data because we never collect it.”
That's the short version. The long version is below, written plainly.
The short version
- Your practice — every journal entry, vision board image, bank account transaction, and savoring postcard — stays on your phone. We never see it. We can't see it.
- We collect anonymous, aggregate usage data through PostHog so we know which practices people open and finish. No names, no emails, no content.
- The app asks for camera, photos, and notifications permission for specific practices. You can decline any of them; the rest of the app keeps working.
- If you write us, we have your email and your message. We don't do anything with them except read and reply.
- We don't sell anything to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else. There's nothing to sell.
What stays on your device
Fieldfold is a local-first app. Your practice content lives in your phone's local storage (AsyncStorage on iOS and Android) and never leaves it. This includes:
- Journal entries and 5-Year Day writing
- Vision board images you select or capture
- Bank Account ledger entries and balances
- 369 Method affirmations and daily progress
- Savoring camera moments and memory postcards
- Mind-Movie media you upload
- Angel-number captures
- Your appearance preference and notification settings
We do not run a server that stores your practice. There is no account to sync. If you delete the app, that content is gone, the way a notebook is gone if you throw it in a fire. We will offer a local export in a future version so you can move between devices yourself; that export will not pass through our servers either.
What we do collect (anonymous app analytics)
We use PostHog to understand which practices people open, which ones they finish, and where the app is rough. Concretely, the app sends events like:
- "Practice opened" with the practice name (e.g. "369 Method")
- "Practice completed" with the practice name and duration
- "App lifecycle" events (opened, backgrounded, version)
- Crash and error traces
These events do not include the content of your practice. We do not send your journal text, your vision board images, your affirmations, or your savoring postcards. The events use an anonymous, randomly generated installation ID — not your name, your email, or your Apple/Google account.
When we say your practice is yours, we mean it.
Permissions the app asks for
The app requests these permissions only when a practice needs them. Decline any of them and the rest of the library keeps working.
- Photos
- Used by the Subliminal Vision Board and Mind-Movie practices to let you select images from your library. Selected images stay on your device.
- Camera
- Used by the Angel-Number Interrupt practice to recognize repeating numbers on signs and receipts via on-device OCR, and by Savoring Camera Moment to capture a memory image. No camera frames are uploaded.
- Microphone
- Reserved for future practices. We do not currently record or send audio.
- Notifications
- Used by the Angel-Number Interrupt (11:11 pings) and the Fake Notification System (premium). You set the cadence; we send nothing else.
If you write us
The contact form on this website is technically handled by Web3Forms , which forwards your submission to our inbox. Web3Forms briefly processes the submission to deliver it; their privacy policy is on their site. We use their forwarded email to read and reply. We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not have a mailing list.
You can also email us directly at hellofieldfold@gmail.com . That email is hosted by Google; their privacy practices apply.
This website
fieldfold.app is a static
website. It does not set tracking cookies, run third-party
advertising scripts, or fingerprint your browser. Our hosting
provider (currently Vercel)
keeps standard request logs — IP address, user agent, referrer,
requested path — for a short retention window. We do not look at
them unless we are debugging an outage.
App Store and Play Store
When you install Fieldfold from the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google receives standard install and crash data governed by their own privacy policies. We see only the aggregate counts they report to developers (installs, country, crash rates). We do not receive your Apple ID, Google account email, or device identifiers.
Premium subscriptions are processed by the App Store or Play Store. Your payment information goes to them, not to us. We receive a receipt and a one-way subscription status flag; we never see your card.
Children
Fieldfold is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The app does not require an account, so there is little to collect in any case — but if you believe a child has used the contact form to send us identifying information, write us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in our Field Notes. We will not retroactively widen what we collect about practice already in flight.
